Trilokinath Temple is dedicated to Shiva. Sultana Devi, the pious queen of Raja Ajbar Sen, built this beautiful temple in the Kali year 2264, coinciding with Saka Veer 1442 (A.D. 1520). It is in Sikhara style and consists of a square garbhagriha, an antarala, and the exterior of the sanctuary, which shows a Pancha Ratna floor plan. It is decorated with two rows of niches with images of Uma Maheshwar, Marisa Mardini, and dancing figures. A SUKANASIKA SUPPORTS THE ANTARALA, WHICH IS TOPPED BY A BHADRAMUHA. The image of Ganesha is missing from the Antarala’s Lalatabibba, which rests on carved, fluted columns showing a trefoiled TORANA springing.

A Frieze Shows Musicians And Dancers Above The Heads Of The Two Elephant Riders In between Them. THE SANCTUM IS PROTECTED BY SAIVITE DWARPALA CARVED ON THE SIDES. THE SANCTUM’S PROFUSELY CARVED DOORFRAME IS DECORATED WITH HUMAN FIGURES AND FLORAL SCROLLS, AND THE MANDAPA (S RECTANGULAR ON PLAN WITH MINIATURE SIKHARAS RESTING ON ELEPHANT FRIEZES IN THE TOUR CORNERS. WHILE TWO PROJECTS BALCONIES SHOW HORSE RIDERS AND EROTIC SCENES ON THE LATERAL SIDES OF LITTLE NICHES’ EXTERIOR WALLS. THE MANDAPA’S ROOF IS SUPPORTED BY FOUR PILLARS, AS WELL AS A FEW MINIATURE SHRINES DEDICATED TO SIVA AND A POND.
The Antiquarian Value of the Loose Sculptures Kept within the temple is immense. The temple was DECLARED ARCHITECTURALLY AND HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT. It was declared protected as a MONUM of National Importance vide notification no. 1328 dated 28th July 1952.
